Napa Wedding Private Estate
“La Vie en Rose” by French singer Édith Piaf, written in 1945, was the theme of Natalie and Laurent’s wedding that took place in Napa, California on July 28, 2012. This wedding was not only a destination wedding, it was also the blending of two cultures. It was important for Natalie’s new in-laws to feel comfortable considering this was going to be the first time visiting the states for the majority of Laurent’s family. Natalie felt it was very important that the wedding resembled as much as the French culture as possible. We made sure to have the menu in both English and French, in addition to all other wedding signage.
The meal was a seven-course meal that started with homemade foie gras by the Laurent’s mother, with a Traditional French Palate Cleansers Trou Normand in between the King Salmon and the beef bourguignon, ending with an assortment of cheeses. Laurent and Natalie had both an American wedding cake and a French wedding cake also known as a Pièce Montée.
The best part of the wedding was when Natalie and Laurent came out to do their first dance, and Natalie surprised Laurent by singing La Vie en rose first in English and then in French. Natalie has such a lovely voice that she brought tears of joy everyone’s eyes.
