Figuring out where to have an event is one of the most important decisions one will make during the planning process. When planning a Bar and Bat Mitzvah, careful selection of the venue is crucial. Keep reading for a few things to consider when booking a Bar Bat Mitzvah venue and some of Hylah’s favorite venues for this event.
While selecting your venue you want to make sure you consider the following so you don’t run into problems later while planning or during the event itself.
- Location, Location, Location – Make sure to consider the distance between the Temple or Synagogue where the ceremony will be taking place. How will your guests get to the venue after the ceremony? Is Valet an option for parking or will your guests be self-parking? If your venue is in Downtown Los Angles with the only public parking lot located 3 blocks away, you will want to consider the potential cost of transportation for your guests.
- Who will be celebrating with you? – Will you be inviting everyone who has ever met or been involved in your child’s life; including extended family, friends, neighbors, classmates, your mail man, hair dresser, etc? Or will it be a small affair where only close family and friends come together? While both are amazing options, both will not fit into the same venue in the same way. Make sure to consider the capacity of the venue and your guest list before signing on the dotted line.
- What will the venue take care of? – There are some venues that have an extensive inventory of rental items from chairs to tableware and even to centerpieces, while others require that you hire additional vendors to facilitate your needs. Make sure you know what is your responsibility and what will already be handled for you by the venue.
Now that we’ve reviewed those quick tips, here are a few venues that have been vetted by Hylah and are great options for holding your child’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah:
